Getting to know the notation in traditional Gamelan songs
All instruments follow the numbering 1 2 3 5 6 except for kenong and gong. As in the figure below, there are some special shapes for these two instruments. This is due to the fact that kenong and gong does not play the melody of the song but instead only play on certain parts of the song. For kenong, the sign of it will be the V shape while for gong, it will be the semi-circle or the circle shape.

Getting to know the types of gamelan
There are two types of gamelan which is the B-flat (Bb) key and the C key. These two keys are the one for the note 1. For the Bb type of gamelan, the equivalence of note to the piano note are as in the table below.
As you can see, the type of the gamelan stands for the equivalent note for the note 1. For the C type of gamelan, , the equivalence of note to the piano note are as in the table below.
